This is characteristic not of something that is being studied badly, but of something that does not exist being championed by people who want to believe in it regardless. Should it be improperly studied, then follow up studies or attempts to prove other claims would also turn up positively.
often people cant read in OBES so that also can cause issues (i have been in my case though able to read). Now in my case I did see something written up the top of my wardrobe on floating up out of body.. a gift certificate I didnt know was there which my boyfriend had hidden for my birthday and that day was able to read it. The thing is I dont know if I could always read things.. as I have not experimented. I was quite good at OBE at one point (I dont do it nowdays as my health is bad).

anyway what Im saying is many studies are not well thought out.
if someone told me to go and look at cars in a driveway.. I'd be concerned that I may have the timing out. (though at home I have seen when neighbour was home due to car in driveway and saw she had visitors).
There are many many mechanisms in human thought to allow for experiences of having knowledge that you did not already have. Ranging from false memories to "subconscious" knowledge which appears due to factors your mind picks up but you were not specifically aware of knowing.

If you have had experiences with it then that is fine, I don't want to say you are wrong for having done so, but I think you would be inaccurate if you were to claim that an OBE is truly an objective phenomena.
The people who are really good at this stuff.. as I said would not ever want to go in studies. In my case I believe the american gov may of killed one of my teachers. He was teaching something which I guess some may call remote viewing but it wasnt that.. it was a different way. and he got government attention.. and he ended up dead..
they turned out here in Australia in Sydney while he was teaching a class.... this was AFTER their government project stargate was supposed to be closed. I was not at that class but I heard about it all being part of the group
Read about project Stargate.. it's a real thing. They dont like it when groups are doing things better than their trained people are. My teacher was getting harrassed.
And the government itself tried and failed to conduct studies to use magical practices to its own benefit back in the 70's. The studies largely failed and were cast aside.

when I was studying this kind of thing I tried to seek out the best teachers.... so travelled
I think I will step out of this conversation here though. If I were you I'd try to keep a tab on your experiences with the world, and if you start to see or hear things that are incredibly out of the ordinary (seeing things moving around in the world, hearing voices, etc) I suggest you try speaking to a psychologist or at least a close friend.
my teacher died of a "heart attack" but he was being harrassed by government people.. I got that from him.. and classmates saw the ones from America in class

I'm aware of the term, and I don't personally think it holds much ground unless in very specific contexts (I tend not to trust "do Y because science" and prefer to opt for science to be an explainer than a dictator of behavior).
I have years and years of certificates for at least 3 different teachers Ive had.. different groups.. of cause most of my studies with meta or occultic things do not come with certificates.. what is a psycholgist going to do?? I can prove I have done these studies

I worry to some degree that your talk about government intervention could be a sign of something like parinoid schizophrenia developing. I don't want to accuse you of having anything (you can 100% hold that view without having any mental illness at all), but I just want to caution you to be careful in the future because I feel like talk about the government having conspiracies and such can be a sign of it.(edited)
that comment you made was offensive.. people do have different belief systems you know and telling someone they need to see a psychologist for their belief system and practices is offensive.

ahh okay.. thanks for explaining.. but it seriously is for real.. I can find a death certificate for my teacher.. I did not say they did certianly kill him.. but found it suspect.. he even had a couple of incidents where someone tried to run him off the road. He did have someone who he believes was that government trying to kill him(edited)
I think you should only see one if you start having more severe signs like hearing voices or seeing illusions. I don't think as you are that you should see one purely because of your views.
lol well as part of my belief system.. I do believe in spirits and do see them at times.. I have attended psychic development classes.. Most yogis (which I am) can see energy.

if you are wanting a general exposure to meta stuff. One of my first experiences of that was I went and took a 10 week (once a week class) run by someone from a Spiritualist church. From that I got to see some amazing things and they talked on different subjects

they did a class on seeing auras, one on healing.. the most awesome one was when they brought a trance channeller and we got to watch that. It was an lady doing the trance channeling.. and what was so amazing about it is that she went from looking like a caucasion white female to looking like a chinese old man when she was channelling

I took a couple of classes with experienced OBE people but that didnt help me.. so anyway.. the book which did get me able to do it at a point in my life (if I was stilling doing the exercises from it I probably still would be able to do that) is called "Astral Projection" the out of body experience. the ones who did the book are from the magickal Order called Aurum Solis .. and lead that order
its got no real strange stuff in it.. (other then they suggest certain times of the year better for it and not to do it at certain moon cycles)

Cadey.. If you have ever heard of wandering clairvoyance.. the book teaches that as a step towards OBE.. I though kind of skipped that step. I got a certain way into the book with the exercises and from there was just having OBEs.
